Each individual who chooses to enter therapy has unique challenges and goals. My objective as a counselor is to provide individualized services for every client in a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment where they can discover their own personal strengths, improve understanding, gain effective coping skills, and create healthy relationships. I work with adult clients experiencing depression and anxiety, relationship and marital distress, and challenging life transitions.

 

I believe therapy is a collaborative journey between the client and therapist. My counseling approach is client-centered, solution-focused, and grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy. I strive to build a relationship with my clients based on mutual honesty and respect so they can become empowered and overcome the challenges impacting their functioning and happiness.

 

After seven years in private practice in Walla Walla, WA, I returned to Utah in 2019 and established Oak Lane Counseling in partnership with Carol Lundwall, CMHC. I have over 14 years of experience working in various treatment settings, including a residential treatment program, non-profit clinic counseling victims of abuse and trauma, and in my private practice. I hold a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Master’s in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix, and I bring not only my education, but a wealth of life experience to my counseling practice. I have been married for over 35 years, have two wonderful children, and have three of the most amazing grandchildren.
